cast opinions

Katie Leung (Cho Chang)

Katie Leung, in an interview with Lizo for CBBC Newsround says that she's wanting Evanna to enjoy the filming and not be nervous. "I'm just telling her to enjoy it. It's a once in a lifetime thing. She's just having such a great time."

Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

Daniel talks about, in an interview for the same purpose, Evanna's personality. "Evanna's lovely. Evanna's sort of -- not a million miles away from Luna herself."

Daniel also said this in an interview with HarryLatino, "She's really, really sweet, really nice. She's just the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world. She loves being on the set. She was a little bit nervous at first being on the set, a little star struck by all the surroundings and meeting some of the cast, but she's really settled in very, very well."

At the LA Premiere of HP 5, Dan also said that since Evanna was such a huge fan, you had to be careful while making a statement because if it was even slightly different from the technicality of the books, Evanna would know and then you'd be in a big trouble.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)

Emma also tells Newsround excitedly about Evanna's personality. "I have to say - she is Luna - she literally is Luna! I can't tell the difference between on camera or off camera!"

At the London premiere of HP 5, Emma said she was very nervous about whether Evanna likes the movie. She said that as long as Evanna liked it, everybody would.

On being asked if there was any new actor she particularly liked working with, "Evanna Lynch, who plays Luna Lovegood. She is Luna, both in the way that she plays her and in real life. The thing I love about her most is that she is a true Harry Potter Fan. She renews my enthusiasm for all of it. Just seeing her face when she walks onto every set makes me realize that it is really all amazing."

Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley)

In a recent interview with PotterCast, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) said: "I've met Evanna Lynch at the read through, and I can confirm that she's brilliant. She IS Luna Lovegood." Chris later said that Evanna was "just absolutely perfect" for Luna Lovegood, "I thought she was completely insane when I first met her."

David Heyman (The Producer)

The Producer praised Evanna Lynch as Luna: "She's an obsessive Potter fan who'd actually had correspondence with Jo Rowling. When she was cast Jo rang me up because she just couldn't believe it - from her letters she said, 'She is Luna.

David  Yates (The Director)

'She's a special young lady who's super-bright, super-perceptive and super-intuitive, and she understands Luna better than anyone else on this film-probably even better than Jo does herself. Evanna brought a naturalism and believability to the character, who is quite heightened in the book. She captured a sense of Luna that feels totally believable and credible, and she makes you smile just like Luna does in the novel. Evanna is a clever, intricate young lady, and she did a fantastic job.'

'She's a wonderful character and was a joy to write, and I think Evanna Lynch really is Luna. She's so delightful in the movie. It's a weird thing when you see a person on screen as the perfect embodiment of how you imagined them in the book-and that's Evanna as Luna.'

Michael Goldenberg (The Screenwriter)

"I fell in love with Luna the minute I met her in the book. She's introduced on the train, with a wand behind her ear, and I said, 'Oh, she's a writer!' In fact, I had to get a little distance from her after the first act or two, because if Luna had been around while I was in school, I would have fallen for her. She's a wonderful character and was a joy to write, and I think Evanna Lynch really is Luna. She's so delightful in the movie. It's a wired thing when you see a person on screen as the perfect embodiment of how you imagined them in the book-and that's Evanna as Luna."
